Education
-
Our
Tutoring
Program
is the cornerstone of the Education Department.
Funded in part by the Crusade for Children and
Louisville Metro Government, the program offers
remediation techniques for kindergarten, elementary
and middle school students who show dyslexia
characteristics. The Tutoring Program is available
to all students in need of assistance. The program
not only challenges youth to achieve academic
milestones but, developmental milestones as well.
Plymouth Community Renewal Center utilizes KidTrax
to monitor program participation and outcomes.
Youth Development
-
Out of Bounds is a
ground breaking community-based youth initiative.
It is our response to years of research and
common sense that suggest that at-risk youth and their
families have multiple needs and interrelated problem
behaviors that are not likely to be addressed by single
response, stand-alone initiatives. Out of Bounds
targets youth in grades 6 – 12 and interested parents
and guardians that live in the Russell Community and
surrounding areas.
-
The Summer Day
Camp program provides recreational, cultural and
educational activities for youth ages 5 – 14 weekdays
for (9) weeks during the months of June through August.
-
Tap dancing
classes offer men, women and children the rhythmic art
of tap as a healthy and entertaining skill.
Food
Distribution
-
Through
Kentucky
Harvest, Dare to Care, churches and individuals,
Plymouth Community Renewal Center is able to assist
individuals and families in the Russell Community.
-
Plymouth
Community Renewal Center partners with Dare to Care and
other local agencies to administer the
Kids Café Program
to provide hot, nutritious evening meals to children in
high poverty areas.
